Mysore University was setup on July 27 1916 by Maharaja of Mysore. Its main Motto is ‘Nothing is equal to knowledge’ and ‘I always uphold the truth’. Currently Mr. Rameshwar Thakur is the chancellor and Prof. V. G. Talwar is vice-chancellor. M.U. is affiliated to UGC and 122 affiliated colleges and 5 constituent colleges are functioning under Mysore University.
