NINE FRESH SWINE FLU CASES RECORDED IN STATE
A total of 120 cases were recorded for the A(H1N1) influenza till present. On Wednesday, 19th August 2009 nine new cases were recorded in Chennai which includes two children. It is seen that most of the cases have been from the Tondiarpet area. The deadly virus is said to be any one of several types of swine influenza virus. The Swine Influenza Virus is endemic in pigs.
The patients were added on Tamiflu, the children given special care by paediatricians.Only a few Government hospitals in every state were allowed to treat this disease, leaving the other Hospitals, Theatres and Restaurants closed. This reduced the crowding of people in multi complexes and other malls.

Lots of people rushed to the Hospitals fearing for the disease, crowding the hospitals. People started wearing the N95 masks as a safety measures, some use duppatas and handkerchief as a substitute for mask in public.
It has been noted that the private sector hospitals are giving a hand in treatment of the disease, as the nine cases registered yesterday, some of them were reported from the Apollo and Vijaya Hospital. The drugs were dispatched from the Communicable Diseases Hospital by Corporation Health Authorities.
A new problem has arise in hospitals, the patients have started evacuating from the hospitals with a fear that they may get infected by the disease just by staying in the hospital or thinking as they have got no cure and can not be treated, causing the Public Health Officials to track them as they may infect the other people. They should believe the doctors as running away from the hospital leads to no good for them nor the society. These cases have been recorded in Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai.
People must know about the symptoms of the disease and keep a regular check up in the hospital, realization of the present state and trying to adjust with it and overcoming it is in the hands of our people.
The symptoms of the disease may be namely chills, fever, sore throat,muscle pains, severe headache, coughing, weakness and general discomfort.
