NEW SOUTH WALES ENTERS SUPER EIGHT ROUND
In another match between the New South Wales and Sussex Sharks at Feroz shah kotla stadium, NSW blues defeated Sussex team and entered the super eight round of the champions league T20.The Group-B contenders fought on the slow pitch for their survival with good spirit.
After winning the toss, NSW Blues elected to bat first. The NSW batsmen found it hard to bat on a slow pitch, opener David Warner was there on the pitch for a while playing a cameo with his 14 runs off 18 deliveries in which he found the boundary twice. Dwayne smith ran him out form the point position. After his dismissal, Phillip Hughes joined with Moises Henriques who was found aggressive from the very first delivery he faced.
These two batsmen showcased their batting skills in an awesome style contributing a 90 run partnership for the third wicket which was unbeaten.
Phil Hughes was not seen aggressive as the game meant to be. But he stayed in the pitch and showed consistency with his 62 rung off 64 balls. On the other end, Moises Henriques gave a nice knick scoring 51 runs off just 33 balls. They set up a target of 131 runs for the Sussex to chase at the end of 20 overs.
The Sussex sharks was not up to the mark for an international cricket tournament as the top order batsmen for their side crumble soon. They found the task hard to withstand the bowling of NSW blues. Hence suffered a 35 runs defeat and thereby paving the way for NSW Blues to enter the super eight round of CLT20.
