TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO’S VICTORIOUS START
In a Group-A league match between the Trinidad & Tobago and Somerset Sabres at the Chinnasamy stadium,Bangalore on Monday, the carribbean domestic outfit won against the Somerset by 44 runs. They recorded their first win in the Airtel Champions League Tournament.
After winning the toss, T&T elected to bat first. Lendl Simmons and William Perkins opened the innings for Trinidad. This duo was a perfect selection as they gave a nice start with the run rate shooting over 10 in the first five overs. In the last ball of the fifth over this aggressive partnership was broken.

Then the batting order started crumbling for T&T and at one point they were 60 for wickets loss and struggling. Denesh Ramdin who played some good cricketing shots and sustained in the middle got back the momentum with his run-a ball knock (39). Ramdin was dropped by the Craig Keiswitter as he butter-fingered his catch in the deep when ha was on 11.
T&T set up a convincing target of 150 runs at the end of their innings to defend.Somerset Sabres who started their innings then, suffered by losing initial wickets and struggled. Much was expected from the opener Marcus Trescothick who failed to stand up to his mark. Dwayne Bravo was in his element picking up four important wickets. Somerset skipper, Justin Langer too departed without taking off with his start.Somerset scored 106 runs in 20 overs and lost their game to Trinidad.
