India will sign five Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) with United Kingdom higher education entities on Wednesday during HRD minister Kapil Sibal’s London visit, according to a British governmentsource. The co-operation will include a tie-up with Imperial college, a science college, a science-based establishment and the world’s 5th ranked university.
Imperial college is already helping to set up an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) at Ropar. The signing of MoUs, to be witnessed by Sibal & Lord Peter Mandelson, British secretary of state for business, innovation and skills, will follow a roundtable with 17 vice-chancellors or senior representatives of British universities, including Cambridge.
