Indian origin has been crowned in Austrailia
A very young & talented 14-year old student of Indian origin has been crowned in Australia as the “brainiest” student who cracked the neuroscience competition tests in Sydney on Monday.
Uma Jha, student of Perth’s Shenton College left behind more than 4000 competitors to win the 2010 brain bee challenge.
In the neuroscience competition test students participated on a range of topics, including intelligence, memory, emotions, sleep, Alzheimer’s disease and stroke.
“The competition was tied right up until the end and it was a really nerve-wracking finish,” Uma said after the event.
Among many challenges Uma competed against the state winners the brain-teasing anatomy exam, doctor-patient diagnosis and a neuroscience quiz. She has become the champion of Australian brain bee and will be travelling to California for the International brain bee challenge which is going to be held in August.
“She has shown that she has a special talent and passion for neuroscience and we’re very proud of her to be representing Australia at the international level,” Prof Richards said.
