Reliance Mobile launches Push Mail service for GSM & CDMA
India’s largest mobile service operator (RCOM) has launched the “Blackberry-Like” push Email Services in association with a Canadian firm “Iseemedia Inc” who is a market leader in Push Email services.
Reliance’s Push mail feature would now be available to Relaince CDMA and GSM subscribers across India. Subscribers can avail this feature on their mobile by paying a monthly charge of Rs 30 Per Month and usage tariff of 0.50 paise per sms.
Iseemedia push mail service solution which is known as “iSeeMail” will enable the handset whether it is basic or entry level handset.
This will enable the users to check, download and retrieve email messages. The IseeMail solution is designed in such a way to allow users to access mails through multiple interface such as SMS, MMS, WAP/XHTML and OMA-EMN.
Krishna Durbha, Head – VAS, Reliance Communications said, “iseemedia provides the ideal platform to deliver our next generation service to drive more email usage among our existing subscribers.” We believe our push email service can deliver substantial revenue upside over the years to RCOM.”

This can potentially wipe out Blackberry type services, specially in a cost conscious market such as India.
