Now, Skype for Symbian

skypesymb1Skype, along with Nokia announced this Wednesday that Skype will now be available for Symbian. This is good news for the many people having Symbian phones.
The software is, of course free, and can be downloaded from Nokia’s Ovi Store.
It works with all kind of network data connections, including Wi-Fi, GPRS, Edge and 3G.
As it provides free Skype-to-Skype calls, the calls from your Symbian mobiles can actually be almost free! Other services include instant messaging, photo sharing, video sharing, text messaging. It has the functionality to call the existing online numbers and alerts when a contact is online. It can also import a handset’s address book.

BSNL 3G now in Andhra Pradesh

BSNL has announced the availability of it’s 3G services in Hyderabad, 23 district headquarters of Andhra Pradesh and 29 cities. BSNL 3G Service is already live now and can be accessed by subscribing to it from BSNL at a rates much cheaper, compared to normal GSM rates.

Glitch in Facebook sends Mails to wrong Recipients

In yet another glitch with a software update caused some emails to be delivered to the wrong recipients. The reported incident took place this Wednesday and Facebook Inc. said that it occurred for “a short time”. This has also made the large number of users raise questions about their privacy on one of the most popular social networking websites.

This Monday, Google unleashed its popular computer software, Google Earth, for Android. It will be available in the Android Market for all handsets running Android 2.1. Google Earth gained much attention and popularity when it released for computers, especially as it was a freeware. The same response is expected for Android versions of the mapping program as well.
